On March 17th, the Ministry of Commerce announced that the 129th Canton Fair would be held online from April 15th to 24th, with an exhibition period of 10 days.

What is the current preparation status for the upcoming third round of the Canton Fair? Xu Bing, spokesperson for the Canton Fair and Deputy Director of the China Foreign Trade Center, introduced the relevant situation.

Xu Bing said that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and the beginning of a new journey to comprehensively build a modern socialist country. It is of great significance to successfully hold the 129th Canton Fair online in this special important period, which is not only conducive to further consolidating the achievements of epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development in China, serving international anti epidemic cooperation, but also conducive to stabilizing foreign trade and foreign capital, unblocking the supply chain of the industrial chain, and maintaining the good momentum of stable economic recovery in China. As the organizer of the Canton Fair, the China Foreign Trade Center is under the leadership of the Ministry of Commerce, fully promoting exhibition organization, investment attraction, platform optimization, publicity and promotion, and service guarantee. Xu Bing introduced that after two online events last year, the online platform of the Canton Fair has established a certain foundation. This year's Canton Fair will continue to optimize the platform's functions to ensure that it can be accessed, found, and discussed. We will further improve the efficiency of supply and procurement integration, enhance the precision of live streaming, enhance the level of cloud showroom management, and enhance the customer service experience. In order to make exhibitors and buyers more familiar with the functions of the Canton Fair platform, the official website of this year's Canton Fair will be put into trial operation from April 6th to 14th.

Xu Bing stated that online exhibition work has been vigorously carried out. In order to effectively connect the consolidation and expansion of poverty alleviation achievements with rural revitalization, this year's Canton Fair has set up a "Rural Revitalization" special zone to help enterprises in poverty-stricken areas explore international markets. At present, 25000 participating companies at the Canton Fair are actively uploading exhibition information in the cloud exhibition hall.
